The Umeda Sky Building is a spectacular skyscraper in the Kita district of Osaka, near the Osaka and Umeda train stations. It is also known as the “Umeda New Town”.
The 173-meter high building consists of two towers connected by the 39th floor Floating Garden Observatory. The observatory offers great views of the city through its windows and its open-air deck. Downstairs is the Takimi-Koji gourmet street, which recreates a city of the early Showa era, while offices occupy most of the other floors.
The observation deck of the Observatory is a bridge that connects the two towers of the Umeda Sky Building, whose roof has a donut shape that allows an unobstructed 360-degree view. From this observatory, you can see not only Osaka but all the way to Awaji Island.
