Gold Whip Stream, Zhangjiajie 2017

Zhangjiajie National Park is located in northwestern Hunan Province, about 400 kilometers from the provincial capital of Changsha. It consists of Yuanjiajie, Jinbianxi, Tianzi Mountain and Yangjiajie. If you have always wanted to see where the rock landscape from the famous movie ‘Avatar’ came from, you should definitely take a trip to this national park. Since 1992, the forest park has been protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Gold Whip Stream, Chinese Jinbian Xi, is a creek at the foot of the mountain. It is about 7.5 kilometers long and the walk takes about 2 hours. It is a simple and easy walk along the creek. The cliff of the gold whip is a 400-meter high cliff by the stream. She is tall, towering and angular. It was once the most famous attraction in the beautiful Wulingyuan countryside. ‘Sunrise at the Golden Whip’ is a famous image of Zhangjiajie.

With numerous peaks, bizarre rocks, lush primeval forests, deep ravines, strange karst caves, clear ponds and enchanting waterfalls, Zhangjiajie National Park is one of China’s most beautiful national parks. Northeast of the forest park is the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon with the world famous Glass Bridge.
