Opening on August 20, 2016, it is the longest and tallest glass bridge in the world. It offers a path with breathtaking panoramic views of the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, about 60 km southwest of Zhangjiajie Town in Hunan County. The bridge connects two deep cliffs, using transparent glass on the floor. It was designed by the Israeli architect Haim Dotan. With a total length of 430 meters, 300 meters above the ground and 6 meters wide. By comparison, the Grand Canyon Skywalk in the US is only 21 meters long and 219 meters above the precipice.
It allows a fabulous view of the nearby sandstones, quartz tips, trees and waterfalls and also from the canyon it makes an impression, floating above the abyss.
There are also plans for a bungee jump platform on the bridge. That would be another world record, because the jump from the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge would be the highest bungee jump in the world, replacing the previous world record of the Macau Tower.
