In addition to the Garden of the Zhu family, the Confucius Temple is undoubtedly one of the most visited attractions in Janshui City. The Jianshui Confucius Temple is the second largest Confucius Temple in China, was built in 1285 and has been well preserved. Made on the model of the Qufu Confucius Temple in Shangdong, it is considered a national cultural asset.
The complex is framed by a picturesque pine and bamboo grove, which contains some interesting stone carvings. Worth mentioning is the work ‘Confucius bears,’ on which the famous teacher is seen, sitting in a dignified posture on the floor, his thick beard reaching him to the chest. On both sides stand his respectful disciples and listen attentively to the teachings of their Master.
