The Fort Würzberg was a Roman numerus Castello of the older Odenwald line. Today, the ground monument is located south of Würzberg, a somewhat remote small part of Michelstadt in the Odenwald of Hesse. The Fort Würzberg was built around the year 100 AD and was abandoned at the latest 159 with the moving of the limes eastward. The Fort grounds cover an area of about 6,000 square meters.
About 60 meters south of the Porta Principalis Dextra, there was the Fort bath, which had a small scale of all the functions of the Roman baths: the impressive restored walls of the Würzberg Fort complex include cold baths, a sweating room, cold and hot water pools and hypocaust heating.
