The National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium (NMMBA) was established in 1991 and is the first marine biology museum in Taiwan. It aims at research and education. The total area is 97 hectares, and the main building is 36 acres.
The museum houses three main exhibitions: the coral, the waters of Taiwan and the waters of the world. There is also a teaching center and changing exhibits.
The main attraction is the walk through the tunnel. The visitors run below the aquarium, awakening the feeling that one is in the ocean. The penguin pool, as well as the dolphins, are particularly attractive. In line with the times, the museum also offers a 3D exhibition on the original inhabitants of the world’s oceans.
