As 60% of the population are Hakka, the county of Miaoli is a perfect place to explore the local Hakka culture. The Hakka Hof is located in LOHAS Tung Blossom Park, was built in 2010 and formerly served as an administrative building.
A courtyard house, commonly known as ‘Sanheyuan’, is the traditional bungalow architecture in the early days of Taiwan. It provides a large family of more than fifteen people. These typical homes are still visible in the countryside, but most of them are not equipped with modern facilities.
