The Castle District on the Burgberg in the Hungarian capital Budapest is probably one of its great sights. Although the Burgviertel was twice destroyed almost entirely, it could still exist to this day. The district was built in the old Buda town center, which stretches from the Vienna Gate to Szent György tér.
The buildings of the Burgviertel were predominantly built in baroque style. The majority associates with the Burgberg only the castle palace. But also the Burgviertel has many interesting places and locations. Among other things, the Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion, and the Castle Garden.
