City Views Xitang, China 2016

Known as the foundation of Wuyue culture, Xitang is located at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. The history of the city dates back thousands of years. The natural environment of the city is very peaceful. There are numerous rivers and plains. Seen from above, the clear waves, reflecting the houses, curl up everywhere.

The whole city is picturesque and idyllic. In the core of the protected area of 1.01 km², 2500,000 m² of the Ming and Qing dynasty have been preserved, which are the most perfect and powerful in the ancient city. In total, there are 8 sectors in the city, which are divided by 9 channels and connected by 104 bridges. A special feature of Xitang are the covered walkways along the riverbank.

Currently, about 2,600 people live in Xitang. The water city was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2001. The city served in some scenes the film “Mission Impossible 3” as a scenery.
