The Mae Haad is located in the north of the island of Phangan and impresses with its vastness. The sand is rough, and the water is not that deep. The unique feature of this beach is its outlying island Koh Ma, which is accessible via a sandbank.
The small island of Koh Ma on the northwest coast is part of a marine park and connected to Koh Phangan by a sandbank. At low tide, you can walk over. To the east of the sandbank, you can meet local fishers with their crab baskets and longtail boats.
