The Sirindhorn Dam Reservoir is located in the Sirindhorn District in the province of Ubon Ratchathani. The lake has formed from the accumulated water of the Dom Noi river. It is one of the largest lakes in the north-east of Thailand, stretching over 50 kilometers from north to south. The widest point is 15 kilometers.
The most popular attraction on the lake is Pattaya Noi (Little Pattaya), a beach section with golden sand along the northern coast. Along the lake, many restaurants offer specialties of the Isaan cuisine. Particularly recommendable is the grilled river fish (Pla Plao) and a salad with small freshwater shrimp. When these little shrimp are still alive, the salad is Kung Ten, otherwise Kung Nawn.
