The Wat Kiri Wongkaram is located south of Ban Saket near Ban Taling Ngam. After walking through the two giant elephant statues, the temple is one kilometer on the right.
The white temple with its impressive ornaments is certainly one of the most beautiful temples of Samui. Peacefully immersed in nature, there is a mummified monk here as well as the buildings of the temple complex.
The mummified body of the Buddhist monk ‘Loung Por Ruam’ is displayed in a showcase. He has been there since his death over 25 years ago, and his body is still in remarkably good condition. Another mummified monk can be found in the east of the island in Wat Khunaram. He is much more famous and is visited during the general tour of the isle.
