Wat Plai Laem

Wat Plai Laem, Koh Samui 2010

About 2 km north of the Big Buddha in Ban Plai Leam is the Wat Plai Laem. This Buddhist temple, situated on Samui’s northeastern coast, was established in 2004 and has been continuously expanded since then.

The twelve-armed statue of Guanyin, a goddess from Chinese mythology, stands for compassion and compassion.
The worship of Guanyin comes from ancient China, but its influence has been widespread in Southeast Asia for many generations.
