Pura Tanah Lot is a Hindu temple on the southwestern coast of the island of Bali. The temple is assigned to the Javanese Hinduism priest Danghyang Nirartha (also: Pedanda Sakti Bau Rau).
The temple is located on a fulcrum in the sea close to the shore. Tanah Lot can be reached on the footpath – but without getting wet – only at low tide. The temple itself, however, can only be entered by believers.
In addition to Bali’s rice fields, the temple is the most famous and well-known photo subject on Bali.
