The Lhasa Railway, also known as the Tibetan Railway, in China, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and Qingzang Railway, connects Xining in Qinghai with Lhasa in Tibet. This amazing track, with a total length of 1956 km, helds several world records.
With an apex of 5072 meters, it is the highest railway line in the world. Along its route is the world’s tallest train station in Tanggula with 5068 meters as well as the highest-lying tunnel in the world at 4905 meters. Tanggula is also the border with the Tibet Autonomous Region.
