The China-Nepal Highway, also called Friendship Highway, links Lhasa in Tibet with Kathmandu in Nepal. The highway is part of the Chinese road G318, which starts in Shanghai, after 4,760 km reaches Lhasa and ends in Zhangmu after a total of 5,476 km.
Construction of the street begun in 1958. It was opened to traffic in 1965, then mainly as a gravel track. Today, the highway is a well-developed road that crosses the picturesque landscape of Tibet through two different routes.
