The Great Wall is zigzagging in the north of China from Laolongtou on the Bohai Sea all the way to the desert in western China. Jiaoshan is the first mountain to climb, so it is also known as the ‘First Mountain of the Great Wall’.
The high, steep Jiaoshan Wall was built in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It is located about three kilometers north of Shanhaiguan and eight kilometers north of Laolongtou. Some sections have been renovated for visitors, while others are wild and original.
